About IBEW

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) is an international union for electrical workers, and our purpose is to organize local electrical workers and raise the standards of living for all. The IBEW in Wichita, Kansas is Local Union #271 and has been around for more than 108 years.

The objectives of the IBEW are to promote reasonable methods of work, cultivate feelings of friendship among those of the electrical industry, secure employment and settle disputes, reduce the hours of daily labor, seek security for individuals and elevate the morale, intellectual and social conditions of our members, their families and dependents, in an interest of a higher standard of citizenship.
