Please note: Enrollment must be done in advance by phone or email for all courses. You must attend all scheduled days of the course to receive CEU’s, and partial credit will not be issued. All classes will be held at the WEJATC unless otherwise noted.

Attention: You must have 12 hours of Continuing Education Units from approved courses, with six hours consisting of training on the National Electrical Code (NEC), every two years for license renewal.

This 10 hour course will cover the code of Federal Regulations for job site safety and proper handling of materials.  Students will cover a variety of safety related topics from electrical safety to trenching and excavation as well as many other construction related requirements.

This course will be based on NEC article 240 & NJATC Overcurrent Protection Textbook.  It will cover code requirements for circuit breakers, calculate short circuit currents in a sample electrical one-line diagram & explore breaker trip settings.

This newly revised course provides training on the hazards associated with working on energized equipment, calculating arc fault currents, and selecting proper arc flash protective equipment.  Course is based on NFPA 70E, but will also discuss associated NEC requirments and will include a look forward into proposed changes in the next code cycle that will affect both the NEC and NFPA 70E.

This 3 hour course will cover the requirements in Article 430 on proper installation of motors.  This will include sizing conductors, overload protection, proper disconnecting devices, over-current protection and many other requirements for proper installation of motors.  This Course can be used for preparation to taking electrical license exam.


*NEC 310 Wire Ampacity and Derating Conductors

This 3 hour course provides instruction on the proper sizing of wire.  The course covers derating of conductors for ambient temperature as well as for multiple conductors in a raceway.  It gives practical instruction on the sizing of conductors for specific applications.  Other related articles of the NEC are also reviewed.  This course would be a good refresher course or preparation for the licensing exam.


*NEC 250 - Grounding & Bonding

*Box & Conduit Fill and Properties of NEC Chapter 9

This 3 hour course covers the proper use of tables 4 and 5 of the  NEC for use in calculating condit fill.  This course also covers Article 314 of the NEC and its ise in calculating box fill and sizing pull and juction boxes.  Other related articles are also reviewed.  This course would be a good refresher course or preparation for a licensing exam.


AutoCAD Basics for Electrical Construction

This course will cover basic drawing tools, techniques & commands used for reviewing & manipulating architectural drawings in 2D & 3D AutoCAD format.  The course will provide construction workers a better understanding of the useful tools available in AutoCAD.  Those attending the course should have a good working knowledge of blueprints & computers.
