Class Schedule

Please note: Enrollment must be done in advance by phone or email for all courses. You must attend all scheduled days of the course to receive CEU’s, and partial credit will not be issued. All classes will be held at the WEJATC unless otherwise noted.

Attention: You must have 12 hours of Continuing Education Units from approved courses, with six hours consisting of training on the National Electrical Code (NEC), every two years for license renewal.

*NEC Article 240 Overcurrent Protection

This course will be based on NEC article 240.  It will cover basic code requirements for overcurrent protection of branch circuits, feeders, and taps.


*NEC 310 Wire Ampacity and Derating Conductors

This 3 hour course provides instruction on the proper sizing of wire.  The course covers derating of conductors for ambient temperature as well as for multiple conductors in a raceway.  It gives practical instruction on the sizing of conductors for specific applications.  Other related articles of the NEC are also reviewed.  This course would be a good refresher course or preparation for the licensing exam.

This 3 - hour course provides instruction in sizing circuit conductors for voltage drop.  Voltage drop formulas & calculations will be reviewed.  Chapter 9 table 8 of the NEC will be reviewed.  This course would be a good refresher course or preparation for the licensing exam.

This is a 3 hour course that is based upon the major changes incorporated in the 2020 National Electrical Code and can be used for preparation to taking electrical license exam.  This class is being broken up this year, into chapter or chapters equaling one class.  This is designed so you can attend the class or classes you need for CEU's.

September 30th & November 4th - Chapters 3 & 4

October 7th & November 11th - Chapter 5

October 21st & December 2nd - Chapters 6, 7, & 8.

This course will review the required outlet requirements in Part III of the NEC, as well as Wichita/Sedgwick County local codes and apply them to a sample house plan.

This 3 hour course covers the proper use of tables 4 and 5 of the NEC for use in calculating condit fill.  This course also covers Article 314 of the NEC and its use in calculating box fill and sizing pull and juction boxes.  Other related articles are also reviewed.  This course would be a good refresher course or preparation for a licensing exam.
