Class Schedule

Please note: Enrollment must be done in advance by phone or email for all courses. You must attend all scheduled days of the course to receive CEU’s, and partial credit will not be issued. All classes will be held at the WEJATC unless otherwise noted.

Attention: You must have 12 hours of Continuing Education Units from approved courses, with six hours consisting of training on the National Electrical Code (NEC), every two years for license renewal.

*NFPA 70E - Arc Flash Training

  • March 13, 2018, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Hours: 2 - 3 hour classes, 6 CEU (3 code/3 non-code)

This newly revised course provides training on the hazards associated with working on energized equipment, calculating arc fault currents, and selecting proper arc flash protective equipment.  Course is based on NFPA 70E, but will also discuss associated NEC requirments and will include a look forward into proposed changes in the next code cycle that will affect both the NEC and NFPA 70E. 


*NEC Article 240 Overcurrent Protection

This course will be based on NEC article 240 & NJATC Overcurrent Protection Textbook.  It will cover code requirements for circuit breakers, calculate short circuit currents in a sample electrical one-line diagram & explore breaker trip settings.


First Aid/CPR/AED

This course is the American Red Cross course; our instructors will follow the guidelines as set forth by the Red Cross.


*NEC 310 Wire Ampacity and Derating Conductors

Hours: 1 - 3 hour night

This 3 hour course provides instruction on the proper sizing of wire.  The course covers derating of conductors for ambient temperature as well as for multiple conductors in a raceway.  It gives practical instruction on the sizing of conductors for specific applications.  Other related articles of the NEC are also reviewed.  This course would be a good refresher course or preparation for the licensing exam.


*NEC 250 - Grounding & Bonding

This 6 hour course covers Article 250 Grounding & Bonding & any other Articles that have additional or special requirements for grounding & bonding.  This course can be used for preparation to taking electrical license exam.


*NEC Article 690 - Requirements for Photovoltaic Installations

This 6 hour course covers the installation of PV systems. Code requirements and operating principles of PV systems will be covered.


*NEC 210-215 & Chapter 9 Voltage Drop

Hours: 1 - 3 hour class

This 3 - hour course provides instriction in sizing circiut conductors for voltage drop.  Voltage frop formulas & calucations will be done over.  Chapter 9 table 8 of the NEC will be reviewed.  This course would be a good regresher course or preparation for the licensing exam.
